PM Modi Marks 11 Years in Office, Highlights India’s Economic Rise and Inclusive Governance

New Delhi: Marking the completion of 11 years since he first took office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday emphasized India’s transformation under his leadership, declaring that the country has emerged as the world’s fastest-growing major economy and a key global player in areas such as climate action and digital innovation.

Celebrating the first anniversary of the NDA government's third term, PM Modi attributed the journey to a consistent commitment to good governance and systemic transformation. “Powered by the blessings and collective participation of 140 crore Indians, India has witnessed rapid transformations across diverse sectors,” he wrote in a post on X.

Underscoring the theme of social inclusion, a link shared by the Prime Minister revealed that 60% of the current Union Council of Ministers belong to the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) — the highest representation of these communities in India’s federal government to date. The move is being seen as a pointed counter to criticism from opposition parties like the Congress, which have accused the Modi government of neglecting the interests of marginalized groups.

PM Modi reiterated the government's guiding philosophy: Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas — meaning “together with all, development for all, trust of all, and effort by all.” He asserted that the government has delivered “path-breaking changes with speed, scale and sensitivity,” with a clear emphasis on people-centric, inclusive progress.

Reflecting on the achievements of the past decade, the Prime Minister listed key milestones including free food grain distribution to over 81 crore people, piped tap water for more than 15 crore households, construction of over four crore homes for the economically disadvantaged, and the building of 12 crore toilets. Other highlights included financial assistance for 20 crore women during the COVID-19 crisis and loan support for 68 lakh street vendors and over 52 crore small entrepreneurs.

The Prime Minister’s message also emphasized the political shift towards development-focused governance. The era of Vikasvaad—a politics centered on development—has become the new norm in policy and public discourse, the statement noted.

“As we mark 11 years of service, we are proud of what we’ve achieved together,” Modi wrote. “At the same time, we look to the future with confidence and resolve to build a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).”

The message, accompanied by the hashtag #11YearsOfSeva, reflects the government’s efforts to reinforce its developmental and inclusive credentials as it continues to shape India’s trajectory on the global stage.
