Lahore: Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 57 runs in the second T20I to seal the three-match series 2-0. The match occurred on May 30, 2025, at Gaddafi Stadium, where Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat.
They posted a strong total of 201-6, led by opener Sahibzada Farhan, who scored a brilliant 74 off 41 balls, and Hasan Nawaz added a quickfire unbeaten 51 from just 26 deliveries.
Bangladesh started their chase positively, reaching 44 without loss in the fourth over. But their innings collapsed soon after, and they lost key wickets rapidly. Abrar Ahmed played a crucial role with the ball, taking 3-19 in his four overs.
Bangladesh's lower order showed some resistance, especially Tanzim Hasan, who hit 50 off 31 balls. However, the target proved too high, and they were bowled out well short.
This was Pakistan's first T20 home series win since December 2021. Captain Salman Agha praised the team's all-around performance and the positive environment in the dressing room.
Farhan, brought in for Fakhar Zaman, was named Player of the Match for his powerful knock, which included six sixes and four boundaries.
Bangladesh's troubles worsened when pacer Shoriful Islam limped off injured in his first over. Captain Litton Das admitted the team failed to do the basics and couldn't recover after early setbacks. Pakistan had earlier won the series' first game by 37 runs, also in Lahore.
