Islamabad: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the headquarters of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, the Defence Minister, and the Chiefs of the Armed Forces.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, the visit included a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security environment, with a special focus on preparedness in light of India’s increasingly aggressive and provocative posture along Pakistan’s eastern border.
The leadership was briefed on developments in regional security and the growing threat landscape, which includes conventional military options, hybrid warfare strategies, and terrorist proxies.
The statement highlighted that the Prime Minister and his delegation emphasized the need to further strengthen operational readiness, seamless inter-agency coordination, and a decisive response to any violations of Pakistan's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Acknowledging ISI's professionalism and strategic insight, Prime Minister Sharif praised the agency’s vital role in safeguarding national interests and enabling informed decision-making in complex and dynamic security scenarios.
"The entire nation stands firmly behind our brave armed forces. The Pakistan Army is among the most professional and disciplined militaries in the world," the Prime Minister stated.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to national defense, the country’s leadership stressed that, with full public support and in collaboration with the armed forces, other national power elements, and state institutions, Pakistan is fully prepared to uphold its security, dignity, and sovereignty against all conventional and unconventional threats.
