UN OCHA Report: 14.3 Million Afghans to Need Health Services in 2025

Kabul: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has reported that an estimated 14.3 million people in Afghanistan will require health services in 2025.

However, the report indicates that only 9.3 million of these individuals are likely to receive assistance due to resource limitations.

According to OCHA, women will constitute over 23% of those in need, children will make up 53%, and nearly 10% will be individuals with disabilities.

The humanitarian body has highlighted a funding requirement of over $279 million to meet the health needs of the targeted population.

The report underscores the pressing challenges faced by Afghanistan’s healthcare sector amidst ongoing economic and social crises.
