Fires Erupt Near Microsoft Office in Beer Sheva After Iranian Missile Strike

Beer Sheva: Emergency services rushed to the scene in southern Israel on Friday after multiple fires broke out near a technology park housing a Microsoft office in Beer Sheva, following an Iranian missile attack. The incident marks the second major strike on the city in two days, intensifying fears of continued escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.

Footage verified and geolocated by CNN shows thick plumes of smoke rising from the tech district, where several companies operate. Video shared by Israel’s emergency response agency, Magen David Adom, captured flames engulfing parts of a city street, with responders actively working to contain the damage. While Israel’s military said the incoming missile had been intercepted, debris still fell in open areas, sparking fires and causing significant property damage.

The Israeli Police confirmed reports of munition falls in the Southern District and noted that while infrastructure had been impacted, there were no immediate reports of casualties. The missile's trajectory and the resulting damage underscore the continued vulnerability of Israel's southern urban centers, even in the presence of advanced missile defense systems.

This latest attack comes just a day after Soroka Medical Center—one of Israel’s largest hospitals, also located in Beer Sheva—was struck and damaged during another wave of Iranian missiles. The city, situated in the Negev desert, is also home to the strategically significant Nevatim Airbase, a frequent target of Iranian claims and the likely rationale behind repeated strikes in the area.

As tensions mount and both sides continue their exchange of fire, residents of Beer Sheva remain on edge, caught between military infrastructure and the destructive reach of regional warfare. The fires near the tech park—symbolic of Israel’s innovation and economic strength—serve as yet another reminder that in this growing conflict, no location is truly off-limits.
