Five Arrested in Khost Family Massacre, Three Confess to Crime

Khost: Authorities in Khost province have arrested five individuals in connection with the brutal murder of 13 members of a single family in the Ali Sher and Tere Zayi districts. Among those detained, a father and his two sons have admitted to their involvement in the crime, according to the Khost Police Command.

While the investigation is still ongoing, officials are working to determine the exact motive behind the killings. Relatives of the victims, expressing shock and grief, have called for swift justice and severe punishment for all those responsible.

"We urge the government to fully investigate this incident and bring all perpetrators to justice," said Aref, a family member of the victims.

Another relative, Mohammad Yousuf, stressed the need for accountability, stating, "All individuals involved in this horrific crime must be apprehended and punished accordingly."

Wali Khan, also a family member of the victims, echoed similar sentiments, demanding that the perpetrators face strict consequences.

Khost Police Commander Abdullah Hamad indicated that early findings suggest a possible connection to a decades-old conflict. "About 30 to 35 years ago, their brother was killed, and these suspects were linked to that murder. However, the precise reason for this recent crime remains unclear," he said.

Authorities have assured that efforts are ongoing to capture any remaining individuals linked to the attack and bring them to justice.
