Levi’s and Denim with Fourth Collaborative Collection

Dubai: The Levi’s® brand and Denim Tears unveiled their fourth joint collection, paying tribute to New Orleans’ rich cultural tapestry and the Black Masking Indian tradition. The drop features eight new pieces—ranging from the Photo Trucker jacket and Photo Jeans, printed with images of Young Seminole Hunters in ceremonial regalia, to fleur de lis–adorned Track Jackets and Track Pants—each designed to blend heritage motifs with contemporary streetwear On April 8, 2025.

The collection’s standout Photo Trucker and Photo Jeans use an intentional imperfection printing process so that no two items are identical, echoing the handcrafted nature of Mardi Gras Indian costumes. The Track Jacket and Pants employ a mid‑indigo wash with dark‑wash color‑blocking and gold rope‑like piping inspired by marching band uniforms, while the Crewneck Sweatshirt and Baseball Tee draw on fleur de lis and gingham tablecloth patterns to evoke communal gatherings. Accessories include a printed Durag and matching cap, all underscoring the designers’ commitment to authenticity.

This collaboration honors the resilience and artistry of communities like the Young Seminole Hunters and Big Chief Demond Melancon. Denim Tears founder Tremaine Emory explained that the U.S. cultural fusion found in New Orleans—African, Indigenous and French influences—shapes American identity in profound ways, and that the collection’s subtle flaws reflect “the human touch behind these traditions—something that can’t be mass‑produced.” Photographed on location with community members, the pieces serve as both wearable art and cultural storytelling.

By spotlighting these sacred traditions through modern silhouettes, Levi’s® and Denim Tears forge a bridge between past and present, encouraging wider appreciation of the Mardi Gras Indian legacy. The ongoing partnership highlights how fashion can celebrate and preserve living heritage, inviting wearers worldwide to carry forward the spirit of creativity, resilience and community that defines New Orleans.
