Over 102,000 Health Services Delivered to Pilgrims by 8th Day of Dhu Al-Hijjah

Makkah: Saudi Arabia’s health sector has provided more than 102,000 health services to pilgrims by the eighth day of Dhu Al-Hijjah during the 1446 AH Hajj season, the Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday.

The services are part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to deliver high-quality, efficient healthcare under the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program, both key components of Vision 2030. The initiatives aim to ensure that pilgrims can perform their rituals in safety, comfort, and peace of mind.

According to the Ministry, 55,275 pilgrims visited health centers, while emergency departments handled 27,231 cases. Outpatient clinics treated 1,412 patients, and 4,970 individuals were admitted to hospitals, including 2,262 in intensive care units.

Specialized medical procedures performed included 16 open-heart surgeries and 204 cardiac catheterizations. The Ministry also managed 71 cases of heat stress with efficiency and prompt care.

The health sector continues to operate at full capacity, working to safeguard the well-being of pilgrims and ensure the consistent delivery of comprehensive medical services throughout the Hajj season.
