Rashid Khan Becomes the Leading Wicket-Taker in T20 Cricket History

Kabul: Afghanistan’s star cricketer, Rashid Khan, has set a new world record by becoming the highest wicket-taker in T20 cricket, surpassing all other bowlers with 632 wickets.

This record includes Rashid Khan’s performances in both international T20 matches and various franchise leagues worldwide.

On Tuesday, February 4, Rashid achieved this milestone while playing in the South African T20 franchise league. He broke the record by dismissing South African player Dinet Viljoen.

Following Rashid on the list is West Indies' Dwayne Bravo, who has 631 wickets but has already retired from professional cricket. Rashid Khan achieved his record in just 461 matches, while Bravo took over 580 games to reach his tally.

Rashid Khan is the captain of Afghanistan’s T20 team and is currently leading the MI Cape Town franchise in the South African T20 League.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) previously honored Rashid Khan as the Best Player of the Decade.

Apart from representing Afghanistan, Rashid Khan has been a dominant force in franchise leagues worldwide, consistently setting new records and maintaining his status as one of the most formidable bowlers in T20 cricket.
