Riyadh: The Saudi fencing team officially began its campaign at the 2025 Asian Fencing Championship with the individual sabre competition in Bali, Indonesia. The tournament, which is held from June 17 to 22, features top fencing talents across the continent.
Representing the Kingdom, eight Saudi athletes are participating in the event to showcase their skills on the Asian stage. The delegation is headed by Abdullah Alsunaid, chief executive of the Saudi Fencing Federation, which held the championship on June 17, emphasized the importance of the championship in preparing the team for upcoming global competitions.
The sabre category, known for its speed and intensity, is the first event in which the Saudi athletes will compete. The championship offers international exposure and helps the fencers earn ranking points and valuable experience.
This participation reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing investment in developing its presence in fencing, particularly at the continental level.
