Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned Israel’s recent military strike on Iran, warning that the attack could further destabilize an already volatile region.
In an official statement, the Prime Minister expressed solidarity with the Iranian people, saying, “We stand with the people of Iran in this moment of loss. There is a real danger that this act will further destabilize an already fragile region.”
He urged the international community and the United Nations to intervene immediately to prevent the situation from escalating. “If tensions rise any further, not only regional but global peace and security will be under serious threat,” he added.
Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar also issued a stern condemnation, labeling Israel’s strike as a “heinous act” and a “blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty.” In a statement posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Dar emphasized that the Israeli aggression was “unjustifiable and deeply condemnable,” and warned that it “shakes the very foundations of international law.”
He added, “This act of aggression has jolted the conscience of humanity and poses a grave threat to both regional peace and global security. Pakistan expresses complete solidarity with the government and people of Iran.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Foreign Office echoed these sentiments in a strongly worded statement condemning Israel’s “illegal and unjustified aggression” against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said the Israeli attack was a “flagrant violation not only of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity but also of the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and international law.”
He reaffirmed that under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Iran has the right to self-defense, and stressed that Pakistan “stands in full solidarity with the people of Iran.”
Khan further called on the United Nations and the international community to uphold international law, halt Israeli aggression, and hold the aggressor accountable. “It is the international community’s responsibility to ensure respect for legal norms, stop this aggression immediately, and bring the violator to justice,” he concluded.
