Dubai: In a move to strengthen Dubai’s government institutions and align with the emirate’s strategic vision, several key appointments have been approved following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai.
The announcements were made by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.
Dr. Alawi Alsheikh Ali has been appointed as the new Director General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), with Sheikh Hamdan offering his best wishes for success in leading the future of Dubai’s healthcare system.
He also expressed his gratitude to Awad Seghayer Al Ketbi for his dedicated service and contributions to enhancing the healthcare sector during his term at DHA.
Eng. Marwan bin Ghalita has been confirmed as Director General of Dubai Municipality, following his interim leadership role.
His appointment reinforces the municipality’s critical role in driving sustainable development and improving quality of life core to Dubai’s ambition to become the world’s best city to live, work, and visit.
In the property and housing sector, Omar Bushahab has been appointed as Director General of the Dubai Land Department and Chairman of the Board of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment.
Mohammed Al Shehhi was named Acting CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, reflecting an ongoing focus on affordable and integrated housing solutions for residents.
Sheikh Hamdan also announced two senior appointments within Dubai Police: Major General Harib Mohammed Al Shamsi as Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Affairs and Major General Ahmed Zaal Al Muhairi as Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Administrative Affairs.
