KARACHI: The city’s traffic police have released a comprehensive traffic management plan for the upcoming Tri-Series and ICC Champions Trophy matches at the National Bank Stadium (formerly National Stadium). As per the issued directives, both lanes of Sir Shah Suleman Road will remain open for traffic during match days.
Parking arrangements have been designated for cricket enthusiasts at the National Coaching Center and China Ground. The Tri-Series matches are scheduled for February 12 and 14, while the ICC Champions Trophy games will take place on February 19, 21, and March 1.
According to the traffic plan, spectators arriving from Karsaz should park their vehicles at the National Coaching Center and China Ground. Fans traveling from Millennium Mall via Stadium Road (Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashidi Road) can use the parking space on the right side of the Stadium Flyover along Sir Shah Suleman Road. Similarly, visitors coming from New Town should utilize the parking facility on the left side of Stadium Road, after Aga Khan Hospital, at the National Coaching Center and China Ground.
To ensure smooth traffic flow, heavy vehicles will not be allowed from Sohrab Goth towards NIPA, Liaquatabad No. 10 towards Hassan Square, Peoples Chowrangi to University Road, Karsaz to the stadium, Millennium Mall to New Town, and Stadium Signal to Hassan Square.
The traffic police have urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and follow the prescribed guidelines to prevent inconvenience. People have been strictly advised against parking their vehicles or motorcycles on service roads or main roads and should only use the designated parking areas.
