UNRWA Says Aid for 200,000 Gazans Stuck in Amman as Israeli Blockade Continues

Gaza: The UNRWA has revealed that vital humanitarian supplies capable of sustaining over 200,000 people for an entire month are currently stockpiled in Amman, just a three-hour drive from Gaza. In a statement posted on X, the agency expressed growing frustration over the ongoing Israeli blockade that has severely restricted the flow of life-saving aid into the besieged enclave.

According to UNRWA, the supplies—consisting of flour, food parcels, hygiene kits, blankets, and critical medical equipment—are ready for immediate dispatch but remain undelivered due to restrictions imposed since March.

The agency has once again urged Israeli authorities to lift the blockade and allow unrestricted humanitarian access, warning that the delay in aid delivery could cost thousands of lives in a population already enduring famine-like conditions and a collapsed healthcare system.

The situation in Gaza remains dire, with more than two million residents facing acute shortages of basic necessities amid ongoing military operations and infrastructure destruction. Despite repeated international calls for humanitarian corridors and ceasefires, aid continues to be held up at borders or blocked altogether. UNRWA’s statement is a stark reminder that the humanitarian crisis is not due to a lack of resources—but rather the political and military barriers preventing them from reaching those in need.
