Karachi: At least 16 people lost their lives, and dozens were injured in two separate road accidents involving pilgrims’ buses in Nawabshah and Khairpur, police reported.
In Nawabshah, the accident occurred on Amri Road near Fatoohal Zardari village, where a van carrying pilgrims collided with a trailer. The crash claimed the lives of six people and left 10 others injured. According to police, the injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The pilgrims were traveling to attend the Urs of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
Meanwhile, in Khairpur, a passenger coach carrying pilgrims overturned on the National Highway near Ranipur. The tragic incident resulted in 10 deaths and 30 injuries.
Rescue officials stated that the condition of seven injured passengers is critical. The passenger coach was traveling from Punjab to Sehwan when the accident occurred.
Authorities are investigating both accidents to determine the causes behind these tragic incidents.
