Gaza: In Gaza today, Israeli airstrikes have killed 19 people, including 10 in an attack in Gaza City, according to medical sources.
The attack took place at dawn and is part of the ongoing conflict in the region. Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, said that Israeli troops will stay indefinitely in the captured areas of Gaza, which he called "security zones."
He also announced that no humanitarian aid will be allowed into Gaza, claiming that Israel is using food as a tool to pressure Hamas.
This news comes amid a long and bloody conflict where Gaza’s Health Ministry reports over 51,000 Palestinians have been confirmed dead and more than 116,343 have been wounded since the fighting began 18 months ago. The Gaza Government Media Office has even updated its toll to over 61,700, with thousands presumed dead under rubble.
The backdrop to this situation is the war that started on October 7, 2023, when Hamas attacked southern Israel, killing many civilians and taking more than 200 people captive.
In addition to the events in Gaza, the Israeli army reported that its forces also killed a Hezbollah fighter in southern Lebanon, adding to the overall tension and violence in the region.
