Aamir Khan Confirms Acting Journey Continues Beyond Mahabharat Project

Mumbai: Aamir Khan has firmly denied rumours that Mahabharat will be his final film. The speculation emerged after his recent podcast conversation with Raj Shamani, in which he expressed deep passion for the ambitious project.

Clarifying his remarks in an interview on Zoom’s Fan Club segment, Aamir stated that his words were misunderstood. “Mahabharat is not going to be my last film,” he emphasized.

The actor explained he was responding to a hypothetical question about a film that might leave him artistically fulfilled enough to consider stepping back, not announcing retirement.

Aamir stressed the word “if” in his response had been ignored, leading to confusion. He described Mahabharat as a powerful and layered story that could leave him with a sense of completion, but it does not signal the end of his acting career.

He added that he will begin work on Mahabharat after his next release, Sitaare Zameen Par, hits theatres on June 20. In the upcoming film, Aamir plays a basketball coach training a team of neurodivergent children.

Directed by R.S. Prasanna and based on the Spanish movie Campeones, it features ten debut actors. Sitaare Zameen Par is a spiritual sequel to Aamir’s 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par.
