Around 1.4 Million Hajj Pilgrims Arrive in Kingdom as of Friday

RIYADH: A total of 1,396,644 pilgrims from abroad have arrived in Saudi Arabia by the end of Friday, May 30, to perform Hajj, the General Directorate of Passports announced.

The directorate reported that 1,326,323 pilgrims entered the Kingdom through airports, 65,228 through land border crossings, and 5,093 via seaports.

Authorities confirmed that all entry procedures are being carried out smoothly, supported by advanced technical systems and multilingual personnel stationed across all ports of entry.

The directorate reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring an efficient and welcoming experience for pilgrims as part of ongoing efforts to serve visitors during the Hajj season.

Hajj, the largest religious gathering for Muslims, takes place annually in Saudi Arabia and concludes with the ritual of animal sacrifice on the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah, according to the Islamic lunar calendar. Each year, millions of Muslims from around the world converge on the holy city of Makkah to perform the pilgrimage, fulfilling one of the five pillars of Islam in a powerful display of faith, unity, and devotion.
