Karachi: Pakistani actress Asma Abbas has revealed the emotional reason behind her recent viral dance video with daughter Zara Noor Abbas. The mother-daughter duo, both celebrated stars from a renowned showbiz family, were seen performing Kathak moves in a video that quickly spread online.
In an interview with journalist Ambreen Fatima, Asma shared the touching story behind the video. She explained that the dance was recorded on the death anniversary of her sister, Sumbul Shahid, and the day had left her feeling deeply sad and depressed.
Seeing her mother’s sorrow, Zara Noor Abbas decided to lift her spirits. Zara, whom Asma described as having become like a mother to her, planned the dance to bring her some joy. Zara invited her to perform together because of her mother’s love for dancing.
Asma said that after dancing with Zara, her sadness began to ease. “I was very sad, but after dancing for a bit, I felt better,” she recalled. Zara then asked her, “Is your depression cured now?”—and it was.
The heartfelt moment cheered Asma Abbas and resonated with fans online, who praised the duo for their bond and emotional strength.
