Avinash Mishra Slams Silent Celebrities Amid India-Pakistan Conflict

Delhi: Television actor and Bigg Boss 18 fame Avinash Mishra has sparked a nationwide debate by calling out fellow Indian celebrities for staying silent during the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan. In a strongly worded Instagram post, Mishra expressed deep disappointment over what he sees as selective patriotism among public figures who avoid taking a stand to protect their personal brand image.

“Silence isn’t neutral. It’s cowardice,” Mishra wrote, slamming actors who have avoided commenting on India’s ongoing military operations, including the recent Operation Sindoor. He contrasted their silence with what he called the hypocrisy of Pakistani artists, many of whom built careers with Indian audiences and are now openly criticizing India’s actions. “Celebrities from across the border – who built their fame on Indian audiences – now calling India’s action against terrorism ‘shameful’ & ‘cowardly’ is the height of hypocrisy,” Mishra stated.

His post directly challenges the idea that public figures can remain apolitical during times of national crisis. He accused silent celebrities of being more concerned with their brand partnerships and follower counts than with standing up for their country. “If you cannot speak up for your country just to protect your ‘brand’ or follower count, don’t ever pretend to represent India,” he said.

The actor’s bold stance has quickly gained traction on social media, with fans praising him for voicing what many have been feeling. Comments poured in, calling him “brave,” “real,” and a “true patriot.” One user wrote, “We need more celebrities who understand their responsibility and speak the truth.” Another said, “So proud of you, Avinash. This is exactly what we needed to hear.”

Mishra’s statement comes at a time when public discourse is deeply polarized, and his words have only added fuel to the conversation around celebrity accountability. While some agree with his viewpoint, others have questioned whether actors should be expected to comment on complex geopolitical issues.
