Beijing: China's Foreign Ministry has issued a stern warning to the United States over its continued use of tariffs, declaring that Beijing will respond firmly and persistently to any attempts to undermine its national interests.
Speaking to reporters, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian criticized Washington's approach, stating that the U.S. is acting out of "self-interest" and is using tariffs as a tool of maximum pressure and unilateral gain.
“This behavior undermines the rules-based international trading system and destabilizes the global economic order,” Lin said. “Such actions are not only reckless but run counter to the interests of the entire international community.”
He emphasized that China will not allow any party to "deprive the Chinese people of their legitimate rights or to weaken the global trade system." According to Lin, the U.S. prioritizing its own agenda over the global consensus reflects a dangerous trend of economic nationalism.
“These moves lead only to failure,” he added, warning that America's pursuit of unilateral interests is harming international cooperation and global stability.
