Islamabad: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong met with President Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad to discuss matters of mutual importance, particularly in light of the recent Pahalgam incident and the evolving situation between Pakistan and India.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency on Monday, President Zardari expressed concern over the recent "irresponsible and aggressive" statements made by the Indian government. He warned that such actions pose a threat to regional peace and stability.
Ambassador Jiang reaffirmed the enduring and time-tested friendship between China and Pakistan, emphasizing that both countries have consistently supported each other during difficult times.
He further stated that China would continue to back Pakistan in its efforts to maintain peace and stability in South Asia, aligning with the shared aspirations of both nations.
President Zardari also praised the Chinese government for its continued support and solidarity during challenging times.
