Chinese Investors Commit $700 Million for Punjab IT Projects

Lahore: Representatives of Chinese tech companies met with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to discuss significant investments in the province. During the meeting, Chinese investors expressed their readiness to invest $700 million in various projects aimed at boosting Punjab’s technology and infrastructure sectors.

As part of the initiative, a Chinese company is set to launch an e-taxi service in Punjab in the near future. Additionally, Chinese firms have announced plans to establish a data cloud center and an e-commerce platform in the Nawaz Sharif IT City, further enhancing the province's digital capabilities.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz highlighted her administration's vision of transforming Punjab into the IT hub of the region. She revealed plans to collaborate with Chinese experts to build the largest artificial intelligence (AI) center in the region, underscoring Punjab's commitment to becoming a leader in innovation and technology.

"This partnership with China will pave the way for Punjab to become a regional IT powerhouse," Maryam Nawaz stated, emphasizing the strategic importance of these developments."
