Delhi's "Viksit Delhi Budget" to Key Issues: CM Rekha Gupta

New Delhi: The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, revealed on Saturday that the BJP government has proposed a "Viksit Delhi Budget" for the year 2025-26 to tackle issues of economic empowerment for women, enhancement of education and healthcare, and pollution and waterlogging. The Delhi assembly's budget session begins on March 24 and will conclude on March 28; the budget is expected to be tabled on March 25.

During the press conference, Gupta stated the Delhi government consulted various sections of society, including professionals, for their feedback in shaping the budget. She informed that a total of 3,303 suggestions were received by email, and 6,982 by WhatsApp.

Gupta opined that the budget is mainly directed towards meeting the basic needs of its citizens, generating employment, and enhancing the overall infrastructure of the city. Gupta further emphasized that Delhi would be developed in the hands of the BJP, in consonance with the vision of PM Modi-a "Viksit Delhi".

The budget session is to commence with a "Kheer" ceremony on March 24, serving as a ritual for marking the beginning of the session. In these activities, the Delhi government intends to gain a lot of ground towards improving the condition of life in the capital with focus on pollution, waterlogging, and public welfare. This budget represents a vision and commitment toward sustainable development and empowerment for all sections of society.
