Doctors’ Strike in Balochistan Government Hospitals Enters Third Day

Quetta: The ongoing strike by doctors in government hospitals across Balochistan has entered its third day, leaving thousands of patients without essential medical care. The doctors have warned that if the government proceeds with plans to privatize public hospitals and fails to release the arrested doctors, they will expand their strike nationwide.

The protest began following the arrest of Dr. Shah and Dr. Mandokhail, key members of the Young Doctors Association (YDA). According to the YDA, the two doctors were falsely accused under fabricated First Information Reports (FIRs) as part of an attempt to suppress their voices.

The arrests were reportedly made on Saturday in connection with an alleged attack on the Director General of Health in Balochistan. The YDA has condemned the charges and termed the arrests unjust, stating that such actions aim to intimidate medical professionals fighting for their rights.

As the strike continues, patients in government hospitals across the province face severe hardships, with many forced to seek medical care at private facilities. The protesting doctors remain firm in their demands, urging the government to withdraw its privatization plans, release the arrested doctors, and address their grievances.
