DP World ILT20 Season 4 to Kick Off on UAE National Day with Grand December Launch

Dubai: Season four of the DP World International League T20 is set to begin on December 2, aligning with the UAE National Day celebrations, marking a symbolic and festive start to the region’s biggest cricket tournament.

The six-team, 34-match league will run until January 4, 2026, shifting from its usual January–February schedule to accommodate the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which is slated for February–March 2026.

Announcing the new dates, ILT20 Chairman and Emirates Cricket Board Vice Chairman Khalid Al-Zarooni expressed pride in launching the tournament on Eid Al-Etihad, a day of national pride for the UAE and its diverse community of cricket fans.

“It’s a real honor for us to be part of the UAE National Day 2025 celebrations by starting Season 4 on such a significant occasion,” he said.

DP World ILT20 CEO David White added that this new window would give players participating in both the ILT20 and the T20 World Cup ample preparation time for their national duties.

He also noted that the revised timing increases the potential for franchises to access a broader pool of elite players.

Following the resounding success of Season 3 which drew record-breaking broadcast and digital engagement the league is aiming even higher for Season 4.

Last season featured international T20 stars such as Nicholas Pooran, Sam Curran, Shai Hope, Andre Russell, David Warner, and Sunil Narine.

Curran won the red belt as player of the tournament, Hope took home the green belt for most runs, and Fazalhaq Farooqi claimed the white belt for highest wicket-taker.

The Dubai Capitals emerged victorious in a thrilling final against the Desert Vipers, played before a packed crowd at the Dubai International Stadium.

As the excitement builds for another explosive season, the ILT20 continues to cement its status as a major fixture on the global cricket calendar.
