Dubai: Emirates has officially launched Emirates Courier Express, a premium shipping service that promises to "treat packages like passengers."
Initially announced on April 1, many assumed it was an April Fool’s joke, but the airline confirmed its legitimacy, unveiling a fast, reliable, and flexible delivery solution.
The service will utilize Emirates' fleet of 250+ aircraft and its global network to provide door-to-door package delivery. Customers can choose from next-day urgent delivery to a two-day premium service.
Over the past year, the service has already transported thousands of packages across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, South Africa, and the UK, achieving an average delivery time of under 48 hours.
Unlike traditional hub-and-spoke delivery models, Emirates Courier Express will ship packages directly from origin to destination, reducing transit times and handling. The service integrates advanced real-time tracking, digital booking, and automated customs clearance for seamless deliveries.
Badr Abbas, Senior VP of Emirates SkyCargo, called the launch an “evolution in global shipping”, with plans to expand further across Emirates' vast international network.
