Liverpool: Goodison Park will serve as the new home for Everton's women’s team starting next season, marking a historic shift for the club.
The men’s team is set to leave the iconic stadium for a new 53,000-seat venue at Bramley-Moore Dock, but instead of demolition, Goodison will host Women's Super League matches, with the women’s team moving from Walton Hall Park.
Everton captain Megan Finnigan expressed excitement about playing at the historic stadium, calling it a "magical" venue with deep community ties.
The move is part of the Goodison Legacy project, reviewed after the Friedkin Group’s takeover of the club in December.
The stadium will also host academy matches and undergo upgrades for the upcoming season.
Everton’s men’s team will play its final match at Goodison against Southampton this Sunday, ending an era that began in 1892.
