Fawad Chaudhry Accuses Sheikh Waqas Akram of Selling KP Government

Islamabad: Senior politician and lawyer Fawad Chaudhry has accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sheikh Waqas Akram of selling the entire Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government.

According to Fawad, PTI's founder was informed that billions of rupees were transferred to Malaysia, and Musaddiq Abbasi is currently investigating the matter.

According to reports, Fawad Chaudhry, in a post on social media, alleged that Salman Raja, Sheikh Waqas, and Rauf Hassan were operating fake accounts, which severely harmed Imran Khan and the party.

He claimed that Sheikh Waqas Akram began his career by supplying weapons to Afghan Mujahideen and later extorted money from Pervez Musharraf, Pervaiz Elahi, Faryal Talpur, and Hamza Shahbaz.

Fawad further stated that Sheikh Waqas Akram is now enjoying luxury through PTI’s funding and the provincial budget. Highlighting alleged fraud, he questioned how Salman Raja could claim to be PTI’s Secretary General, a designated party position.

Chaudhry also accused Salman Raja of falsely collecting funds under the title of Secretary General and taking millions of rupees in fees from Nawaz Sharif. He alleged that Raja was involved in controversial cases from Panama to Hudaibiya.

Additionally, he criticized Rauf Hassan, the third member of PTI’s political committee, labeling him a “lifelong paid agent” who received over Rs. 50 million in salary from PTI. Chaudhry sarcastically remarked, “After all, revolutions don’t come for free.”

In response, PTI’s political committee condemned Fawad Chaudhry’s statements, stating that his slap to Shoaib Shaheen was a “slap on the face of the entire party,” not just Shoaib Shaheen.

The committee expressed solidarity with Shoaib Shaheen and called Fawad Chaudhry’s attack a “criminal act,” citing his history of similar controversies.

PTI leader Shaukat Yousafzai clarified that Fawad Chaudhry is not currently a member of PTI, adding that there are no internal rifts within the party. He asserted that the party remains unaffected by anyone’s inclusion or departure.
