RIYADH: Saudi Arabia, in partnership with the Maldives, will host the first Saudi-Maldives International Forum on Integrity in the tourism sector on May 6 to 7 in the Maldives.
Jointly organized by Saudi Arabia’s Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority and the Maldives’ Anti-Corruption Commission, with support from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the forum aims to advance transparency, good governance, and anti-corruption practices in tourism.
Key topics include strengthening international cooperation, promoting sustainable development, and fostering a safe and trustworthy tourism environment, according to the report.
The event is expected to draw participants from over 40 countries and 10 international and regional organizations.
Attendees will include ministers and representatives from OIC member states, as well as global bodies such as the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Interpol, the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities, and the UN Development Programme.
The forum reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in tourism and aligns with Vision 2030 goals to diversify the economy and position tourism as a key pillar of sustainable growth.
