Five journalists die in Gaza while the Israeli government lets three babies freeze to death.


  • Fighting goes on in Gaza, where five journalists were killed in an airstrike on their car in the central Nuseirat refugee camp. It is during the war that has had a toll on the region. In another bombing, at least five more journalists died, proving the deadly end that media practitioners in the ground face.


  • People assembled after the Israeli bombardment in Beit Lahya targeted Kamal Adwan Hospital courtyard and some of the neighboring structures. The strikes have increased during the winter season with poor standards of living for people in Gaza. Unfortunately, three children died from cold in the night; they were born in the tent camps, which many families occupy due to limited access to adequate resources for shelter.


  • At the same time, however, Gazan’s minority of Christians celebrated Christmas by praying for the continuation of no fighting. A resident remarked, "It is difficult to celebrate when there is so much pain around us, but we hold on to hope."


  • A day after killing eight people at the Tulkarem refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, Israel's military also steps up its raid there, sending in reinforcements. The victims include two women and a teenager.


  • Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 45,361 Palestinians and wounded 107,803 since October 7, 2023. At least 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks that day, and more than 200 were taken captive.


  • It has now surpassed 14 months the conflict, which is still ongoing and causing more lives to be lost and creating further deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the region. International pressure for the sides to lay down their arms continues while both accuse each other of hindering the signing of the treaty.
