Gaza: Gaza is facing one of its worst humanitarian crises, with no food or medical aid allowed in for more than 50 days due to an Israeli blockade.
The World Food Programme (WFP) has warned that “Gaza needs food now,” as hunger and desperation continue to rise across the besieged region.
Access to clean water is becoming more limited by the day. According to the UN’s humanitarian office (OCHA), over half of Gaza’s water and sanitation facilities are out of service, leaving families without drinking water and creating major health risks. Hygiene conditions have worsened drastically, putting the population at further risk of disease.
Rescue and relief efforts are struggling as well. The shortage of heavy machinery, along with attacks on aid workers, has crippled attempts to save lives under the rubble and deliver help to survivors. Gaza’s health system is barely functioning due to constant strikes on hospitals, and the limited medical supplies are rapidly running out.
Since March 2, Israel has blocked all aid entry, leaving injured Palestinians without care. As hospitals run dry and essential services collapse, many wounded people are dying simply because they can’t access the help they need. The situation continues to deteriorate, deepening the suffering of Gaza’s people.
