SIS Pitches, a pioneer in sports pitch design, has revealed intentions to create a new stadium in Saudi Arabia as a major step toward the 2034 FIFA World Cup. In keeping with the Kingdom's goal of becoming a major international sports hub, this arena will be one of the main venues for matches during the tournament.

The record-breaking pitch at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh was originally designed by SIS Pitches, which is well known for its creative designs. Aiming for operational readiness by April 2025, the new project is anticipated to include cutting-edge facilities and grass from nearby Saudi fields.

Project Highlights:

  • As part of the project, which will include two natural grass training fields
  • A SIS Air classic vacuum and ventilation system
  • The SIS Pitches team will create a hybrid grass football stadium pitch
  • Pitch accessories, drainage, and related irrigation will also be included in the work.
  • The stadium and training fields should be concluded in 2026, with design work expected to be finished by January 31st.
  • SIS Pitches has so far invested over 1.3 million Saudi Arabian riyals ($370,000) in the region, establishing Saudi Arabia as the key nation for the company's long-term strategies.

"Saudi Arabia has undoubtedly established itself as a key destination for some of the world's biggest athletes over the past five years," stated David Ball, Managing Director of SIS Middle East. It's clear that people here love sports, and there has been a strong desire for top-notch facilities that can compete with those of major European clubs.

The announcement is in line with Saudi Arabia's overarching plan to improve its sporting facilities in time for the World Cup. Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki al-Faisal, the minister of sports, highlighted the Kingdom's goal to organize a "world-class" tournament and the ongoing debates surrounding important aspects of the event.

In addition to hosting international games, this stadium is a component of a broader effort to encourage sports culture in the country. It is anticipated that the design would showcase Saudi Arabia's distinctive legacy while offering both players and fans a contemporary and captivating experience. This proposal, which is designed by SIS Pitches, is another step in Saudi Arabia's plan to improve its standing in the international sports arena and demonstrate its ability to successfully host large international events, as preparations get underway.
