Grand Mosque Boosts Services for Last 10 Days of Ramadan

MAKKAH: The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has intensified operations to accommodate the large influx of worshippers during Ramadan’s final 10 days.

Efforts include enhancing prayer areas with carpets, sanitation, fumigation, and Zamzam water, along with environmental protection and facility maintenance. The authority has deployed thousands of personnel and equipment, ensuring smooth crowd management and high-quality services.

Key measures include 38 inquiry stations, rapid cleaning teams, and daily perfuming rounds using over two kilograms of oud. Facilities include 428 escalators, 28 elevators, 1,300 speakers, and a 90,000-ton cooling system.

Additional services include free luggage storage, special prayer areas for the elderly and disabled, a 24/7 childcare center, and a unified transport reservation platform, ensuring a seamless experience for worshippers.
