Islamabad: A high-level meeting chaired by the Prime Minister has decided to leave no stone unturned in exposing the attackers of the Jafar Express incident before the world. It was also resolved to counter anti-state propaganda on both traditional and digital media with full force.
According to government sources, the meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s House and was attended by key civil and military leaders, including representatives from all four provinces, as well as Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
During the meeting, it was agreed to strengthen the national narrative under the National Action Plan. The National Narrative Committee was instructed to develop an effective and proactive strategy to counter terrorists and hostile elements.
It was also decided to curb any material that goes against national security and unity. The meeting emphasized increased collaboration among all provinces to ensure national harmony and security.
To strengthen the national narrative, the provinces agreed to incorporate patriotic themes into films and dramas, effectively countering extremist narratives. Additionally, digital media will be utilized to disseminate content highlighting the negative social impacts of terrorism.
The meeting also resolved to combat fake news on social media. Steps will be taken to counter deepfake videos and misinformation by providing verified information. Furthermore, it was decided to include terrorism awareness in the national curriculum to educate the youth on this critical issue.
