Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday announced the formation of a task force to support displaced Afghan women cricketers in a landmark initiative.
In collaboration with the BCCI, ECB, and Cricket Australia, the ICC will provide both financial assistance and development opportunities for the affected players.
A dedicated fund will offer direct monetary support, while a high-performance programme will include advanced coaching, access to top-tier facilities, and personalized mentorship.
ICC Chairman Jay Shah emphasized the importance of inclusivity, saying the initiative aims to ensure every cricketer has the opportunity to thrive.
The announcement follows recommendations from the Chief Executives’ Committee, with further appointments to be confirmed.
