India-Pak Ceasefire: No Nuclear Signaling, Says Vikram Misri

New Delhi:  India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has dismissed claims of nuclear escalation during recent India-Pakistan hostilities and clarified that no external mediation, including from Donald Trump, played a role in the ceasefire.

Briefing a Parliamentary panel on Monday, Misri stated that there was “no nuclear signaling” from Islamabad and stressed that the decision to halt military action was reached bilaterally between India and Pakistan. His comments came in response to questions raised by opposition members regarding Trump’s repeated assertions that he had “helped avert nuclear war.”

According to sources present at the meeting, Misri humorously remarked that Trump had not sought his consent before making such claims. The Ministry of External Affairs, during its briefing, reiterated that no third country had a role in India’s internal matters, especially regarding Jammu and Kashmir, firmly rejecting U.S. suggestions for mediation.

The clarification underscores India’s longstanding policy of resolving bilateral issues with Pakistan directly and without foreign involvement. Misri’s statement comes at a time when geopolitical tensions and media narratives have raised speculation about international interference in South Asia’s security dynamics.
