Indonesian Consulate General Assists Surviving Pilgrims in Mecca

JEDDAH: Indonesian Consul General in Jeddah, Yusron B. Ambary, along with the Head of the Protection Task Force, Neni Kurniati, and Immigration Technical Staff, Okky Aditya Yaqsa, visited the surviving pilgrims in Mecca following an accident.

During the visit, they spoke with the victims to express concern and offer support, urging patience for the smooth continuation of their religious activities.

The Consulate General's Immigration team also processed replacement passports, known as the Travel Document in Lieu of a Passport (SPLP), using a mobile device for those who lost their documents in the incident.

Additionally, the team visited two hospitals in Mecca and Jeddah to gather necessary information for the SPLP processing, including fingerprints and passport photos.

A total of 12 pilgrims received their SPLPs, with the documents expected to be completed and handed over the following day. One victim still has their passport, while another, named Fabian, remains in intensive care and cannot be processed yet.
