JEDDAH: The Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah hosted a warm Eid al-Fitr celebration at its residence, joined by the U-17 National Football Team, who are in Saudi Arabia for the Asian Cup, and approximately 2,200 Indonesian citizens living in the region.
The event began with a congregational prayer led by Indonesian Consul General Yusron B. Ambary, followed by a sermon from Hajj Technical Staff member Nasrullah Jasam.
The celebration fostered strong connections among the U-17 National Team, consulate officials, and the Indonesian community, with the post-prayer halal bihalal strengthening bonds.
“We are proud to celebrate Eid with the U-17 team as they represent Indonesia on the international stage,” said Consul General Ambary.
Guests enjoyed traditional Indonesian dishes, such as chicken opor and ketupat sayur, offering a taste of home during the festive occasion. U-17 player Evandra Floresta expressed gratitude for the warm welcome, saying, "The warmth from the Indonesian community here gives us extra motivation before our match."
The Consulate General remains dedicated to supporting and strengthening ties with Indonesian citizens in Saudi Arabia through such activities.
