Bamako: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) concluded a specialized training program in Bamako, Mali, aimed at enhancing national efforts to counter terrorist financing and money laundering.
The program, held in collaboration with Mali’s Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs, is part of IMCTC’s broader strategy to support its member states through targeted capacity-building initiatives.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mali’s Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs Lt. Gen. Sadio Camara, IMCTC Secretary-General Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Moghed, as well as senior military and diplomatic officials and representatives from regional and international organizations.
The training included a scientific lecture titled “Financial Investigations into Terrorism Financing and Money Laundering Crimes,” which attracted over 200 participants from security, judicial, and oversight sectors. A closed workshop titled “Methods of Countering the Financing of Terrorist Organizations in the Sahel Region” brought together experts from national and regional institutions to share experiences, address challenges, and propose collaborative solutions.
The event concluded with a joint call for ongoing cooperation between the IMCTC and its member states to bolster institutional resilience and enhance regional security efforts across the Sahel.
