Kabul: The Islamic Emirate has dismissed concerns raised by Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding potential security threats from Afghanistan. Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, asserted that Afghanistan is fully under their control and does not pose any danger to other nations.
"All of Afghanistan’s geography is securely governed by the Islamic Emirate, and no threats emerge from our country toward any other nation. Such concerns are baseless,” Fitrat stated.
He also emphasized the Emirate’s commitment to fostering positive relations with neighboring countries, particularly those in the north, and pointed to their actions as evidence of this policy.
However, some political experts argue that the presence of armed groups in Afghanistan remains a source of concern for regional powers, including Russia. While these groups may not be affiliated with the Islamic Emirate, their potential existence continues to fuel security apprehensions.
Earlier, speaking at a joint press conference with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, President Putin reiterated Moscow’s vigilance regarding threats originating from Afghanistan and underscored the importance of securing Central Asia against potential instability.
