Khan Younis: In one of the most intense bombardments in recent weeks, Israeli forces launched at least 30 air strikes within the span of a single hour on the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis. The latest wave of attacks marks a sharp escalation in Israel’s military campaign as ground forces continue pushing deeper into the densely populated southern region
Among the areas targeted was the Nasser Medical Complex—one of the few remaining partially functioning hospitals in Khan Younis—which was reportedly bombed again despite ongoing international concerns about the safety of medical infrastructure. Local health authorities confirmed at least 28 Palestinians were killed since dawn, with dozens more wounded or missing under the rubble.
The escalation comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office announced plans to allow a limited amount of humanitarian aid into Gaza. However, details on the timing and quantity of this aid remain unclear, raising further alarm among humanitarian groups struggling to reach the millions in urgent need.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza has killed at least 53,339 Palestinians and wounded over 121,000. However, the Government Media Office in Gaza has updated the death toll to more than 61,700, citing thousands of missing persons still buried under collapsed buildings and presumed dead.
This latest surge in violence follows the Hamas-led attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, which left approximately 1,139 Israelis dead and over 200 taken hostage—a catalyst for the war that has since devastated large swaths of Gaza.
As air strikes rain down and ground operations intensify, humanitarian workers warn that the already catastrophic situation in Gaza is worsening rapidly, with food, water, and medical supplies running dangerously low.
