Israeli Fighter Jet Bombs Gaza Home, Killing 20 Including Children

Gaza: Israeli forces have attacked a residential home in the Shujayea district of eastern Gaza City on April 9, 2025, killing at least 20 Palestinians, including children, and leaving many others wounded.

Eyewitnesses report that the powerful air strike caused heavy explosions that shattered the building, with some victims now buried under debris. News agencies and reports from local medical charities confirm the tragic loss of life from this attack.

The violent bombing took place early in the morning as a fighter jet targeted a home in an area known for its high population density. Doctors Without Borders noted that an attack occurred close to their clinic in the so-called safe zone of al-Mawasi, adding to the fear and uncertainty among the local population. Families in the area have been forced to flee as the bombing caused widespread destruction and left countless civilians in danger.

Emergency teams and hospitals, including al-Ahli Arab Hospital, are struggling to cope with the overwhelming number of injured people. Medical staff report that the influx of patients has strained resources, and many injured have yet to receive the urgent care they need. The lack of sufficient supplies and damage to infrastructure continues to worsen the crisis for people in Gaza.

In addition to the air strike that killed 20, ongoing bombardments have created a dangerous situation where access to basic necessities like food, water, and medical care is rapidly diminishing. With food and medical aid stuck at border crossings, the overall humanitarian situation in Gaza is worsening by the day. This has raised international concerns about the safety and survival of civilians caught in the conflict.

This attack comes as part of a larger pattern of military operations in Gaza following the end of a fragile ceasefire on March 18, which saw renewed air strikes and ground operations by Israeli forces. The United Nations and several aid organizations have condemned the repeated bombings, warning that the ongoing conflict continues to endanger innocent lives and exacerbate the already severe humanitarian crisis in the region.
