Jerusalem: Israeli forces have continued their land clearing operations in the occupied West Bank for the fourth consecutive day, targeting swaths of Palestinian land in Wadi al-Matwi in Salfit town.
According to Wafa, local sources, including activist Nazmi al-Salman, have confirmed that this operation is part of a planned project to construct a road that will provide settlers access to an outpost.
Bulldozers have been actively uprooting olive trees and destroying the land, while settlers have raised the Israeli flag along the cleared path, emphasizing the symbolic assertion of control over the area.
This operation, carried out amid longstanding tensions over settlement expansion, reflects a broader strategy by the Israeli military to consolidate control over disputed territories. The continued clearing of land not only disrupts the livelihoods of local Palestinian communities but also adds to the deep-seated grievances surrounding land rights and settlement policies in the region.
