Gaza: Israeli forces have arrested 16 Palestinians during a raid in the occupied West Bank, according to a report on 22nd April 2025.
The arrests took place in the village of Kobar, located north of Ramallah, early Monday. Among those detained was 59-year-old Hanan Barghouti, a former prisoner and the sister of Nael Barghouti, who holds the record as the longest-held Palestinian prisoner.
Nael was released earlier this year after serving 44 years in Israeli prisons and was subsequently exiled to Egypt. Hanan herself had previously spent nine months in administrative detention without charges in 2023.
In addition to the Kobar operation, Israeli troops also conducted arrest raids in the southern West Bank town of ad-Dhahiriya near Hebron. These arrests come amid escalating tensions and a wider pattern of increased detentions by Israeli forces across the occupied territories.
