Gaza: Israeli airstrikes on Gaza have killed at least 77 Palestinians in the past 24 hours. One of the attacks targeted a United Nations (UNRWA) medical facility, killing 22 people, including nine children.
Other airstrikes hit homes, tent shelters, and residential buildings, leaving multiple dead, injured, or trapped under rubble. The United Nations has condemned Israel’s attacks on humanitarian workers and civilians.
The attacks began at dawn on April 2, 2025, and continued overnight into April 3. In the Jabalia Refugee Camp in northern Gaza, a UNRWA medical facility was bombed. In Khan Younis, located in southern Gaza, tent camps and residential buildings were destroyed. Another airstrike hit Gaza City’s Shujayea neighborhood, where several homes were reduced to rubble, killing at least three people.
Israeli fighter jets launched missile strikes targeting buildings, homes, and shelters across Gaza. The UNRWA medical clinic in Jabalia was directly hit, causing mass casualties, including women and children. In Khan Younis, tent camps for displaced people were bombed, leading to more deaths and injuries. Rescue teams are struggling to recover people trapped under the rubble as the attacks continue.
According to reports, 77 people have been killed since April 2. UN officials confirmed that Gaza has become the most dangerous place for aid workers, with over 408 humanitarian workers killed so far. Al Jazeera Arabic stated that overnight airstrikes killed 24 Palestinians in multiple locations. The AFP News Agency reported that Hamas rejected Israel’s ceasefire proposal, claiming that Israel is blocking peace efforts.
Israel and Hamas have been engaged in war since October 2023, following Hamas's attack on Israeli territory. Since then, Israel has intensified its military operations in Gaza, justifying them as efforts to eliminate Hamas fighters. Ceasefire negotiations have been ongoing, mediated by Egypt and Qatar, but Israel rejected the recent deal and made counter-demands. Hamas refused Israel’s latest truce proposal, stating that Israel is unwilling to withdraw from Gaza or stop its military operations.
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has worsened, with thousands displaced, medical facilities destroyed, and aid workers under attack. The situation remains critical, with ongoing airstrikes, rising casualties, and failed ceasefire talks. International organizations, including the UN, have condemned the attacks, but Israel continues its military operations, leaving civilians in extreme danger.
