Trump Denies Leaving G7 Summit to Negotiate Israel-Iran Ceasefire

Washington: US President Donald Trump has dismissed reports that he left the G7 summit in Canada early to work on a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. The claim was attributed to French President Emmanuel Macron, who suggested Trump was returning to Washington to negotiate a truce. Trump responded sharply on his Truth Social platform, calling the report “wrong” and accusing Macron of “publicity seeking.”

In his post, Trump wrote, “Publicity seeking President Emmanuel Macron, of France, mistakenly said that I left the G7 Summit, in Canada, to go back to D.C. to work on a ‘ceasefire’ between Israel and Iran. Wrong! He has no idea why I am now on my way to Washington, but it certainly has nothing to do with a Cease Fire.” The US president added that his return was related to “something much bigger than that” and told followers to “Stay Tuned!”

Earlier, Trump had issued a dramatic warning on Truth Social, urging residents of Tehran to “immediately evacuate” amid escalating Israeli airstrikes on the Iranian capital. His comments came amid growing international tensions as the conflict between Israel and Iran continues to intensify, with missile strikes and counterstrikes causing significant casualties.

Trump’s departure from the G7 summit marks a notable shift in his schedule, as the crisis in the Middle East demands increased US attention. However, his denial of any ceasefire-related mission indicates that diplomatic efforts to halt the violence remain uncertain. Meanwhile, the US continues to bolster its military presence in the region, with additional deployments announced to support defensive capabilities.

As the situation develops, global leaders and civilians alike watch closely, hoping for a reduction in hostilities. But with statements like Trump’s and ongoing military exchanges, the path to peace appears unclear in the immediate future.
