Dhaka: In a workers' conference at Mymensingh on Friday, the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, issued a forceful call to the young people of Bangladesh to be firm about their rightful demands until they are met.
Speaking from the Circuit House field, he underscored the indomitable influence wielded by young people in phase transitions, recalling that it was the valor and sacrifices of the youth that brought into existence the sovereign nation of Bangladesh in 1971.
Dr. Rahman has instructed the youth gathered there to keep pressing until just demands are adequate to turn up new leaders of the day. On so doing, he turned around from his main point to flash a lofty motivation for the younger sections, underlining that their agony should not cater to the interests of any political party or individual, as the fight is for nothing but justice and a change in social ethos.
In that existence, the Jamaat leader wondered how the sacrifices from various fights did not help the people combat any further kinds of injustices while questioning, "What will we tell the families of those beloved ones killed if their issues remain still unresolved?" When the living generation of free Bangladesh had to fight against corruption, crime, and terrorism-from all these injustices-the present generation would have enough signatures to their doom as a nation.
Dr. Rahman harshly criticized the current government for corruption, accusing the Awami League in power of massive stealing of the wealth of the country. He then asked the government to fetch back the millions that have been converted into taka which fled abroad in laundered money and to bring to justice the hundreds residing in India.
The sound of his speech was somewhat to fire the youth of Bangladesh as an empowerment group carrying this fight onward for a better and more just society.
