Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has introduced Pakistan's first online medicine ordering portal to improve service delivery, ensure accountability, and promote transparency in the healthcare sector. The initiative was formally launched by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, who emphasized its importance in enhancing efficiency across the province.
The portal will allow District Health Officers (DHOs) and Medical Superintendents (MS) to place medicine orders online, following an approved list of medicines. The system will automatically generate orders based on this list, with any deviations flagged as alerts.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur remarked, "We are working on modernizing systems for improvement. We are focusing on digitization to enhance transparency and the efficiency of departments."
This initiative is part of the government's broader efforts to improve public services, with a particular focus on healthcare and education. Additionally, the Chief Minister launched fuel cards for EPI vaccinators, which is expected to enhance the vaccination system.
