KSrelief Continues Global Humanitarian Efforts Across Multiple Countries

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) is continuing to extend critical humanitarian assistance to vulnerable populations across the globe through a diverse range of aid projects.

In Sudan’s Blue Nile State, KSrelief distributed 2,037 food baskets over a two-day period, reaching nearly 9,700 displaced people in urgent need of food support.

In Afghanistan, the agency concluded the Saudi Noor program to combat blindness in the provinces of Herat and Balkh. In collaboration with the Al-Basar International Foundation, a medical volunteer team examined nearly 6,900 patients and conducted 711 eye surgeries, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

KSrelief also launched its 2025 winter aid initiative in Pakistan, delivering 84,500 shelter and winter kits to families across all provinces, including remote areas such as Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The initiative is expected to benefit more than 591,500 individuals. Additionally, the agency rolled out a year-long food security program aimed at distributing 147,500 food parcels—totaling 14,000 tons of food—between December 2024 and November 2025, targeting over 1 million vulnerable people.

In South Sudan, KSrelief has been funding nutrition programs to support over 6,000 at-risk women and children. The program provides fortified food to help address acute malnutrition in areas affected by flooding and displacement. The center also contributed $6 million to the UNHCR to support emergency shelter, blankets, and relief items for those displaced by the ongoing conflict in Sudan, benefiting refugees and internally displaced persons across Sudan, Chad, and South Sudan.

Meanwhile, in Yemen’s Socotra governorate, KSrelief has launched a housing rehabilitation initiative. A volunteer team of 15 is actively working to restore selected homes, with the project set to continue until May 31.

In Syria, KSrelief recently completed the Saudi Amal medical campaign in Damascus. Over the course of a week, 86 medical volunteers delivered a wide range of health services, including adult and pediatric surgeries, cardiac procedures, urological care, orthopedic surgeries, and blindness prevention.

Since its inception in May 2015, KSrelief has executed 3,435 projects across 107 countries, valued at more than $7.9 billion. These efforts have been carried out in partnership with over 317 international, regional, and local organizations, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to global humanitarian work.
